Lap of Legends
Most people never meet their heroes. Logan Sargeant gets to race his in the first ever real vs. virtual race.
Lap of Legends is a groundbreaking documentary that pits a real Formula 1 driver against virtual legends from the past—brought to life through a mix of AI, augmented reality, and live GPS telemetry.
We developed a bold visual identity for the film, starting with a high-energy title sequence that sets the stage for both the technical showdown and the emotional stakes. Throughout the film, we created dynamic storytelling moments that explore how today’s cars stack up against vintage machines. We also brought to life the personalities of iconic F1 drivers, whose signature styles and quirks were used to shape their virtual versions. From infographics to cinematic sequences, our work helped bridge eras of racing and make the competition feel thrilling, personal, and real. This work was originally created by our talented designers during their time at The Mill, a legendary studio that has since closed its doors.
